On Saturday March 1st, 2014 the Kempinski Career day 2014 took place at Kempinski Munich Airport Hotel. Over 1,000 students were expected to attend and meet the 70 general managers.
Kempinski ambassadors believe that success relies on their worldwide team of professionals, well trained and dedicated employees. As they said, “It is all about people” and they are willing to extend their vision across the world. People make the difference and provide genuinely caring service to the guests and it is why guests consistently return to Kempinski properties.
They are targeting to open nearly 50 hotels. In 2012 Kempinski had 20,000 staff worldwide. By 2015, they expect to hire a further 12,000 new members of staff, which includes 1,000 managers and 35 general managers. It is one of the main reasons why they are focusing on People and Talent Development.
The Career Day 2014 gave the opportunities for applicants to meet face to face general managers from Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Three thematic conferences were organised to debate issues concerning people, innovation and Food & Beverage. Moreover, Mr. Wittwer - President & CEO, Mr. Gehrig - VP Talent Development, were there to support the event and participated in the conferences. The Kempinski Talent team had set up a tweet wall with instantaneous tweets from the hashtag #kempinskicareerday. And Kempinski food concept cars were there to welcome all participants.
It is very interesting how Kempinski endorse the business with such a dynamic approach on people. The next generation of staff has new needs and they are willing to dominate the market and hire people who fit their vision. 70 general manages sitting in the same room and ready to hire. How can you ask for more?
